Albert Dubout (1905-1976) is one of France’s most celebrated illustrators whose work appeared in dozens of books, magazines, advertisements, record sleeves, and movie posters. He was awarded the Legion of Honour in 1953. Among the French law books he illustrated with humorous cartoons were the Traffic Code, Tourism Code, and Tax Code. Dubout was mostly known for his prolific cartoons of cats and cats behaviors, but by the 1970s Albert was becoming more well known for his edgy and erotic illustrations.
